Located deep in the heart of the Vuursche forest, in the centre of the Netherlands, Buitenzorg has been welcoming Scouts & Guides from all over the world since 1949.
With over 12 hectares of grounds and plenty of pioneering poles, team games and challenges can be enjoyed in abundance. Evenings are spent round campfires; with the largest seating up to 1,000 people.
At Buitenzorg you can experience nature in a responsible and sustainable way. The staff of Buitenzorg works according to the international guidelines of Scout Centre of Excellence for Nature, Environment and Sustainability (SCENES).
Buitenzorg site is divided into 18 campsites of varying size and your group will be allocated the one most appropriate to your group. Each campsite has its own campfire area and is marked out by the surrounding trees. Toilets and showers are available on site.
Activities
Buitenzorg offers a number of challenging activities during the summer months for a well-filled and active camp, such as archery, leather or woodworking, making a survival bracelet, or mini pioneering.
Of course, multi-day hikes are also possible, where for example, you can spend the night at PBC Austerlitz The hikes can be rented throughout the scouting season .
Surroundings
Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort are easily accessible by train.
In Baarn and the surrounding area, several events are organized throughout the year.
